The night forms Act V of the exhibition Data Mining Kiosk at the Nationalmuseum. Act V turns its gaze toward the architecture of the first built computer, drawing parallels between its spatial qualities and the grid of modernist buildings and streets.
The video unfolds as a slow observation through the camera lens, focusing on materiality and mechanics, and pointing toward the beginnings of machine construction. The machine evokes an aesthetic reminiscent of lanterns and street views.
