FUTURES / EDUCATION

Next to our public screenings and experiments lFdC takes on a yearly commitment. In the year 2024-25 lFdC will promote education. The program is non-profit and will be limited to 12 young artists.

Studio* organised by lFdC offers young artists in the fields of visual arts an alternative educational platform. The course is aimed at anyone between 18-26 years who wants to work with images, text, film, sound and plan to apply at an European art-school next summer.

European art academies are looking for students who are visually and conceptually engaged with contemporary themes. This course goes beyond a portfolio course. The course aims to promote an own personal-engaged artistic methoed and approach which at the same time withdraw from current times.

Studio* strengthens your artistic development and helps you to prepare for studies and applications - especially for applications to German and European art academies.
In addition to classic formats of art production, the course focuses on current social issues such as digitalisation and AI, climate change, identity and research-based art production. These topics are covered in weekly sessions.

Place and time will be announced beginning September 2024.

In the past year lFdC had set out to investigate the current situation of urbanism in Berlin and invite to a prolonged dialogue on feministic, social, architectural and utopian aspects of urban planning. We have done this in cooperation with others who pursue a feministic perspective on our urban environment. lFdC aims at opening up for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives.

The workshop ‘Art and Feminism’ takes place every year.
